Mom and baby are now in the second trimester!!!!! The baby is now, on average, 2" from crown to rump- The size of a plumb!!!
Baby now shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of his/her systems are fully formed. The skeletal structure is hardening and joints are forming. The vocal chords are now fully formed and the baby can even cry!!
The baby can now feel touch as well as pain. When touching the mothers stomach the baby will react to the touch although you may not be able to feel it just yet. The face is fully formed and the head is now proportionate to the baby's body.
The baby's bone marrow is now beginning to produce white blood cells which will help the baby fight infections later in life.
Keep on growing little one!! Next week he or she is the size of a...PEACH!!!
