Here are the developments that Baby Howlett is making this week...
He or she is 1.5-2" in length and weighs about 0.25 oz. Approximately the size of a lime! His/Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under his/her gums, and some of his/her bones are beginning to harden.
The baby is already busy kicking and stretching, and his/her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. The baby's body is straightening and his or her torso is lengthening. Your baby can now assume stretches, somersaults, and forward rolls. These movements will become more frequent as his/her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that his/her diaphragm is forming.
Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. Fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles are beginning to form. -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.
The baby's body is straightening and his or her torso is lengthening. The major organs such as the brain, lungs, liver, intestines, and kidneys are fully functioning and urine even begins to form.
That is a lot of work in one week!! Coming up next week....A PLUM!!
