28 Weeks...

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain. His brain is becoming increasingly developed and complex. The surface of the brain begins to show the twists and grooves seen in older children. The baby is also adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

things are getting kind of cramped in the womb. What all this means for mom: Get ready for some more kicks and jabs to the ribs. The baby's movements are becoming strong and regular. The head position remains unstable, sometimes head down and sometimes bottom down.
The lungs are becoming better developed, and he is capable of breathing, although the lungs still have to develop more before they are ready for birth. It is actually thought that the baby begins to dream starting this week. rain scans have demonstrated REM sleep in babies. (Sweet dreams my baby boy!)
Our crib arrived...but sadly it has a huge dent in it. We are expecting another crib on Wednesday...Fingers crossed this one is okay! Our changing table will be arriving on Christmas eve! What a great Christmas present! We will hopefully have the nursery together the week after Christmas! Getting ready for our little guy is so fun! 85 more days to go!!
