16 Weeks...

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to it's length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: Between 4" to 5" long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces.
The legs are much more developed, the head is more erect than it has been, and the eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. The baby 's reflexive movements are increasingly developed, and improved muscle control allows it to grasp things with its hands. At this point the baby is starting to have hiccups which might show up on your next ultrasound.
The patterning of his scalp has begun, though the baby's locks aren't recognizable yet. He/she is even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, the heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
Watch what you say... because tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice!! The ears are close to their final position, too.
Mom will begin to feel the baby kicking starting anywhere from now to 20 weeks. During weeks 16-20 the baby's movement will slowly become more and more apparent. (So exciting!!)

My nausea has hugely improved. I have only gotten sick 2 times this week!! My energy level is up and I am really starting to be able to have a life again! =) Start counting down the next 13 days because October 1 we will find out if it is a boy or a girl!!!!!!!!!!!! I have felt the little butterflies of the baby moving every now and then, but nothing other than that. It is very exciting to feel the little movements, but I cannot wait until I can feel the little one kicking around in there!

Next week- the baby doubles it's length. It will be the size of an Onion and weighing 6 oz!!!!
